Qatar, Kuwait Express Support for Progress in US–Iran Talks

(MENAFN) Qatar and Kuwait have voiced support for recent progress in negotiations between the United States and Iran, expressing hope that the two sides will soon reach a formal agreement, according to Qatar’s Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

The statement said Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held a phone call with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah, during which they discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Both sides reaffirmed what they described as full backing for efforts aimed at resolving outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful means, the ministry added.

The officials also expressed optimism that continued negotiations between Washington and Tehran could lead to a swift breakthrough in the talks.
