Qatar Says 49 Aid Trucks on Way to Gaza
The relief—organized by the Qatar Fund for Development in collaboration with Qatar Charity and the Qatar Red Crescent—is intended for distribution inside Gaza by the World Food Programme (WFP). According to the ministry's statement, the aid will be funneled through the Rafah and Kerem Shalom border crossings.
The shipment includes 4,704 food parcels, 200 tons of general food supplies, 174 tons of flour, and 5,000 units of infant formula, the ministry detailed.
Officials stressed that this initiative comes in response to dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza, which have deteriorated under an ongoing blockade.
Palestinian sources on the ground confirmed that aid trucks began crossing into Gaza through Kerem Shalom early Sunday, with operations coordinated by the Egyptian Red Crescent.
On the same day, Gaza’s health authorities issued a short statement reporting six additional fatalities caused by starvation and malnutrition within the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of such deaths since October 2023 to 133, including 87 children.
